Weekly News - September 29 - October 3

Memory Work:
Tuesday, September 30 - #36,37
Thursday, October 2 - #40,42
Friday, October 4 - Hymn 283:1-2

Mission Offerings – A mission envelope was sent home today and may be brought back anytime this week.

Spelling Words – This week is a review unit. The lessons review the spelling patterns and words from units 1-5. We will not have a pretest! The final test on Friday will consist of 25 random words from units 1-5.

Standardized Testing – This week we will be taking the standardized tests. Please make sure your child is here on time each day, especially since testing will begin as soon as school begins each day. I’d like to recommend that you have your child here no later than 8:15 each morning! Also, please make sure your child eats a good breakfast each morning so he/she will not be distracted by hunger.

Piano Lessons – Because we will have a different classroom schedule, there will be no piano lessons this week!

Midterm Grade Reports – Please sign and return your child’s progress report by this Friday, October 3rd. Remember that we will be meeting next week to discuss your child’s progress.

Memory Work – Please remember that memory work is homework, and it is graded! We are now in the 6th week of school; therefore, students who do not know their memory work when they get to school will receive an incomplete!

Incompletes – An assignment that is not finished on time or is left at home is considered incomplete. When this happens, a pink incomplete form is sent home in the child’s take-home folder. The assignment must be completed at home, checked over by a parent, and then the pink form must be signed by that parent. The child must return the completed assignment along with the signed form the next morning. If the assignment is not completed or the form is not signed by a parent, another incomplete will be administered. Please review the Parent Handbook, Appendix H, for a more detailed explanation of the incomplete policy.

Harvest Celebration – Next Friday, October 10th, from 6-9 PM, is Apostles’ Harvest Fest. Invite friends to come with you so they can check out our campus and join in the fun, games, candy, and music. The cost is only $4 per child and $1 per adult!
