Mission Offerings – A mission envelope was sent home today and may be brought back anytime this week. This is the last opportunity for the students to bring a mission offering during this school year. Please encourage your child over the summer to continue giving to the Lord from his/her heart.
All As One – If anybody else would like to contribute a donation to the charity All As One, which Mrs. Thurmann talked about with our class, please return the envelope to school by this Thursday.
Yearbook Signing/Pizza Party – This will take place on Tuesday from 3:15 until 4:30. Students that are not picked up at 4:30 will be checked into homeroom. If you did not purchase a yearbook yet, there will be 21 yearbooks available on a first come, first serve basis for $27.
Last Day of School – Thursday is our last day of school. The children will be dismissed at noon.
Graduation/Closing Service – Grades 1-7 will be singing for the graduation/closing service on Thursday, June 4th at 7:00 p.m. We will be meeting in our classroom at 6:45 p.m. and sitting together as a class.
Report Cards – Report cards will be distributed on Thursday night, after the graduation service.
School Supplies – Please have your child bring something other than just a backpack to take home supplies on both Wednesday and Thursday!
Summer Studying – I strongly encourage that your child continue to read over the summer. A good goal would be to read for 20 minutes every day. Making use of the public library system would be very beneficial for your child. It would also be a good idea to review basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Keeping on top of those basic skills will help your child to have a great start in 5th grade.
It’s also very important for your child to continue studying God’s Word over the summer. Not only will regular studying of God’s Word help your child to resist the devil’s temptations, but it provides the Holy Spirit an opportunity to strengthen your child’s faith. Summer vacation should never be a time for anyone to take a vacation from God!
Thank You – I truly enjoyed teaching every one of the 4th graders this year! I loved having the opportunity to get to know the children on a personal level as well. Thanks for helping to make this a great year!
God’s blessings on your summer!
